Sher-Gil is an Indian-Hungarian artist but this zine focuses on Indian art as her choice to return to India became one of the biggest influences on her work or as she describes, India was where “my destiny lay as a painter." Sher-Gil is considered to be one of India’s most important early modernist painters. This zine features two pages on Indian women artists from Art History AND two pages about contemporary Indian women working today.
