About Printer Johnson
Printer Johnson is a paper goods brand and trading name of illustrator and printmaker Vicki Johnson.
Inspired by nature, folklore and pattern Vicki designs colourful illustrations with a nostalgic feel from her home studio in Norwich.
Vicki’s background is in traditional printmaking, co-founding the Print to the People, an open access printmaking studio with Jo Stafford in 2009. Vicki’s limited edition screen prints continue to be produced on the premises.
Vicki translated her approach to screen printing into Risograph printing, outsourcing the production of her prints to Earthbound Press, a specialist Riso printing studio in North London. Riso printing is an eco-friendly stencil duplication process with a vibrant colour pallet which can include fluorescent and metallic inks.
Vicki’s process led approach to illustration and use of colour overlay has given Vicki’s work it’s bright colour palette for which she has now become known for.
